I lived in 27 Ne...HiJan just came across this post. I lived in 27 New Cross Road from 1947 to 1962 on the top floor. My dad's family rented the whole house from New cross hospital at the time. There wasn't a bathroom and the toilet was halfway down the back garden. Probably hadn't changed much from your ancestors time.
