Fred Aylward/Deptford X
Loads going on for Deptford X festival from 25 September to 4 October. I'm looking forward to Fred Aylward's Before exhibition of photos of lost local entertainment venues showing at the Albany Cafe - and his Before & After exhibition of watercolours of buildings that no longer exist at the Dog and Bell. Linked to this is a showing at the Albany next Tuesday 29 September (7:30 pm) of the classic reggae film Babylon, much of it filmed in the Deptford area. If you stick around you can join a wander from the Albany to the Dog & Bell afterwards pointing out some of the spots featured in the film and exhibition.
