Skating Rink Mania in New Cross 1876

'The "Rink"' Mania: The secretary to the New Cross and Lewisham Skating Rink Company has been summoned to the Greenwich Police Court to answer the charge of keeping a disorderly house - namely, the skating rink in question - without having obtained a license for the performance of music. A number of the neighbouring residents complained that they were annoyed by the strains of a brass band and by the assembling of people whom the rink attracted to the place. The magistrate said the matters would have to be decided by an indictment preferred at quarter sessions, and it was arranged that this course be adopted'
(Penny Illustrated Paper, London, 24 June 1876)

I assume this was ice skating or could it have been roller skating? And where was the rink?
