A stag in Lewisham


We featured the 'Lewisham Natureman' deer  in Cressingham Road last month. Now another sighting of the deer has been made, next to the River Ravensbourne by Lewisham train station, where the animal appears to be taking a drink. Painting it must have involved waders or a boat (or maybe a harness).

You can see it from the bank of the river on Silk Mills Path, by the entrance to Tescos.

    My son spotted it the other day! A great view of it from the path up to Lewisham station also. [where the cabs wait.]

    oh wow! so glad u have posted about them on here! Yes, the one on cressingham road is around the corner from our friends house and they showed us it. a friend spotted another one by newcross gate station but i couldnt find it when i looked. he siad its pretty hidden. if anyone spots it, id love to see a pic.

    So sad some kids have sprayed huge and poorly executed tags over this poor stag. You can still him shining through the spray paint though.

    yes the one on the Heygate Estate now has Millwall sprayed on it, ugly yes but I guess that's all part of the temporary nature of street art

    The artists name shouldnt be given on here. The person is virtually uncontactable anyway. I have a good idea who they are.

    Thanks for your reply, it would be great if you could ask the artist to get in touch, I am involved with a local park user group - and we would like to see if we can arrange for a Stag to find a home in the park.
    The Quaggy runs through the park and there is lots of wildlife and people who would enjoy its company.

    There is also one on the old Thomas Tallis Building in Kidbrooke Park Road and one now in my Local park Northbrook park painted on a gate that's hidden away. They are amazing!
