A Deptford Cricketer
Caroline's Miscellany has the full story of Colin Blythe (1879 - 1917): 'One of England's best Edwardian bowlers', born at 78 Evelyn Street, Deptford, working at Woolwich Arsenal and 'discovered' while playing around before a Kent cricket match at Blackheath. A sometime Wisden Cricketer of the Year, he was killed near Passchendaele in the First World War.
