can you imagine how bad it would have been without London smoke free laws - hundreds dead
oh yes to get political the Tories opposed those laws as well - no regulation - just market forces
Yes I sometimes do remind people who are pessimistic about human progress and pollution that the London air and Thames water are cleaner now than for hundreds of years.
Looks scarily Dickensian in a strangly modern way and also slightly apocalyptic. A great photo.
