Paul Astles and Bobby Valentino are playing at The Wickham Arms, Brockley, SE4 on Thursday, February 17th at 8.30 pm (admission free). The pair have been making music locally for many years - both were in the Electric Bluebirds. Before that Paul was in The Realists, a Deptford band who had a single on Stiff Records in 1978, I've Got a Heart.
Bobby was in The Fabulous Poodles , playing violin and fiddle. They came from Deptford and had some success in the USA in the late 1970s. Lead singer Tony deMeur is now comedian Ronnie Golden.
Apparently Paul and Bobby are working on an album called Friendly Street.
