The Singing Ringing Tree traumatised me as a child for years even though I loved it. It was originally a film which was cut up into episodes for TV but which is now available as a film on DVD. A word of warning: don't watch it if you wish to preserve the memory!
I watched the DVD recently and yes it was a bit ropey, but still excellent. The ultravivid colour was great - especially as when I was a kid we had black and white TV.
The big fish looks like a carp. Maybe in times to come, the London Shinto community may come to worship them.
Haven't seen any evidence of Shinto in the park, I've done Tai Chi a few times though.
