In Green Hundred Road, Peckham, the Free Trader pub has been closed for a while. I believe an extension is being built at the rear as part of converting it into flats. A report in the summer stated that Southwark has lost more pubs than any other borough in the country in recent years, with 110 pubs closing between 1997 and 2009.

THIS PUB WAS RUN INTO THE GROUND SO THEY COULD SELL IT AND MAKE A FORTUNE BUT THERE WAS A SLUMP AND THEY CANT SHIFT IT, HE WAS OFFERED 850,000 FOR IT BUT TURNED IT DOWN Sayin " i wouldnt get out of bed for that" i bet he would now, hope they go skint, this was a great pub till they took over, percy you should never have left
Yes perhaps a positive side effect of the slump is that there might not be as much to be gained by closing down pubs and trying to sell them off
