Lewisham Keep Our NHS Public Protest in the Blue

Lewisham Keep Our NHS Public has called a lobby in Bermondsey at the office of Lib Dem MP Simon Hughes to call on him to oppose his Government's Health and Social Care Bill.

It will take place on Saturday 25th February at 12 noon by 4 Market Place, off Blue Anchor Lane, SE16 3UQ  (facebook details here). They promise a sound system and a choir.

I strongly oppose the bill, but even I can recognise that that is some highly misleading campaign literature...

As someone involved in writing that leaflet, I'm cool with you pointing out what is misleading, because I don't know what is.

The biggest myth the government and Lib Dems are putting forwards re: this bill, is that it is not privatisation by the back door. It is. The hundreds of pages of double-speak and 'listening exercises' can't hide it. That's why every professional body worth its salt felt opted out of a consultation process that became an ideological assault on the NHS.

If you can tell me one lie on that postcard, fine. I tried to be objective. But if you can't, you'll have to realise that Simon Hughes is a coward for supporting the bullshit Cameron and Lansley are putting out there.

And well done for opposing the bill.
