The search for obscure South London film connections continues. Further to our list of transpontine horrors, we have uncovered a link to the Planet of the Apes cycle in the personage of Roddy McDowall, who played chimp good guy Cornelius in the original movie (as well as several other simian parts in the follow ups). It has also been brought to our attention that the photo we reproduced from the 1935 film Bride of Frankenstein features not one but two South London monster impersonators. As well as Lewisham-born Elsa Lanchester as the Bride in question, Frankenstein himself was played by Boris Karloff (1887-1969), born William Henry Pratt in Camberwell.
