There's something vaguely northern about the view from the railway bridge in Vesta Road (SE14), with allotments sloping down to the train tracks from the back of the terraced houses. Barriedale Allotments Society have their own blog - though not much action on it recently - where you can read more about this little oasis in New Cross.

Although looked at from the Nature Reserve the other side of the tracks - a view unfortuneately obscured by trees so I have not got a good photo to share - the terracing down the slope reminded me more of Himalayan foothills.
